…This month is Breast Cancer Awareness month, something very sensitive to myself and our household as my lovely wife Cheryl, was diagnosed with a very aggressive stage 3 form of breast cancer 8 years ago, she was one of the lucky ones – after fighting hard and receiving treatment for almost a year she is still here to be a wonderful mum to our little girl Amber Rose, who was only 18 months old at the time. Yes, we have been left financially crippled but to see her beautiful smiling face every morning is a wonderful thing.
As a result, I have produced a little something and experimented by converting the finished artwork into an animated GIF.
Please post something on Instagram and twitter this month with the hashtag #elcdonates – @esteelauder will kindly donate $25 for each post to their breast cancer campaign #TimeToEndBreastCancer– Thank you to @elizabethhurley1 for the information on Chris Evans’ radio show!
…A newly commissioned piece of artwork which has gone straight to a one off print to raise money for a very special charity – DKMS.
The print is professionally printed at A2 size onto 100% cotton, archival paper and is signed, dated, numbered (1/1) and framed.
You can see further detailed images from the project here.
The charity auction is in two parts, first, an ‘online’ auction will close at mid-day on 20th March, bidding will then resume at the ‘Let’s Make a Spark’ Corporate Awards attended by a select number of specially invited people at the Shard, London later that evening. DKMS – Every 20 minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with a blood cancer such as Leukaemia, Lymphoma or Myeloma. (That is hard enough to contemplate! Here is the scary part that you may not realise) – Only around 30% of people with blood cancer find a matching donor within their family.
DKMS – was formed in 1991 in Germany, they have a stem cell donor registry containing 300,000 people who could possibly help others who are affected by blood cancers – would you also like to help? If so please visit their website for further information – https://www.dkms.org.uk/en
